About IP and TT Cell

IP & TT Cell at IIT Mandi came into existence to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within the institute by identifying and protecting its intellectual property assets and transferring its technology and knowledge to external partners for commercialization and other uses.

The IP & TT cell aims to create value from the institute's intellectual property and technology by developing partnerships with industry, investors, and other stakeholders to bring innovations to market, enhance economic development, and create social benefits.

To achieve its vision, the IP & TT cell typically focuses on:

• Identifying and assessing the organization's intellectual property assets, and developing strategies for their protection and commercialization.
• Providing education and training to researchers, faculty, and staff on intellectual property and technology transfer, including best practices, policies, and procedures.
• Promoting the creation of new intellectual property through research and development, innovation, and collaboration with external partners.
• Facilitating the transfer of technology and knowledge to external partners, such as industry, investors, and other stakeholders, for commercialization and other uses.
• Collaborating with other departments within the institute, such as research, legal, finance, and marketing, to ensure that intellectual property and technology transfer activities align with the institute's strategic goals and objectives.
