The projects under the technology development will mainly focus on different aspects of user interfaces across a number of problems in different domains. These domains will include the environment, healthcare, information technology (IT), and defense & security, which form important sectors of the Indian economy.

Due to the proposed location of the hub at IIT Mandi, some of the technologies will be focused on the mountain region. A team of experienced faculty, as well as newly joined faculty, will participate in the success of the iHub. Also, a several industries and academic institutions have committed to be a part of this iHub. The iHub has also made a list of companies in India that are focused on HCI-related research. The iHub is contacting different companies to work actively with them on technology (interface) development and evaluation, HRD & skill development, entrepreneurship, and collaborations.
